The client

The NBA has staged Summer League in Las Vegas since 2004, and since 2018 all 30 teams have run it at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center and the adjacent Cox Pavilion: a high-traffic proving ground for rookies and front offices that draws thousands of fans and a deep back-of-house operation.

The challenge

Stand up access and credentialing for 18,000 attendees plus 10,000 back-of-house personnel at a fast-moving, first-year activation.

Our approach

We deployed 30 NTR-H handhelds running wrstSCN for door scanning into wrstCORE, with Manifest driving on-site printing across five ZC10L printers and ten Chromebooks, issuing 6,500 RFID badges and 3,720 RFID wristbands.

The results

The handheld-first model cleared both fan and credentialed-staff entry across the full run with no fixed portals, scaling to 28,000 total people.
