The PLAYERS Championship
RFID access and catering POS for the PGA TOUR’s flagship at TPC Sawgrass.
The PLAYERS Championship is the PGA TOUR’s flagship event, drawing the strongest field in golf to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach every March. The Pete Dye–designed Stadium Course has hosted it since 1982, anchored by the par-3 17th: the island green that’s become one of the most recognizable holes in the sport.
The PLAYERS Championship needed RFID access scaled across multiple locations — and a jump from roughly 6,500 to 30,000 attendees meant the entry footprint had to grow with it.
We deployed 34 NTR-6 portals plus NTR-H handhelds for access and ticket swaps on wrstSCN, tied to Ticketmaster through wrstCORE. ~14,150 RFID wristbands credentialed the gates, with NTR-T+ self-service kiosks for loaded-value lookups and a 45-tablet POS deployment for concessions.
WRSTBND covered access for 30,000 fans across the grounds and a 2,000-person VIP section, scaling a long-running operation roughly fivefold without changing the playbook.
